Director
Aiko Lozar
Aiko Lozar is a Film Production major at Chapman University minoring in Culture and the Classical World. She has previously directed a variety of short films that uplift underrepresented voices (Heart Candies Taste Like Chalk, Diversity Hire). She has worked at Sound United and Hopetown Entertainment, directed commercials at Sparkhouse Productions, and is most recently a Casting Intern at Paramount through the Television Academy. She is excited to work on this project and is excited to represent her mixed white and Filipina heritage. She has been wanting to direct this story for forever and couldn't be more grateful to work with such a talented and authentic group of people.


Producer
Alexis Berganio
Alexis Berganio was born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii. She is currently a senior at Chapman University, majoring in Creative Producing with a minor in Creative and Cultural Industries. Since beginning her career at Chapman University, Alexis has produced several short films, many of which give voices to underrepresented communities. Additionally, she has worked as an intern at The Kennedy/Marshal Company and at Temple Hill Entertainment, assisting on the development of upcoming films/tv shows. What excites her most about this project is that it is grounded in truth and history. As the child of a White mother and a Filipino immigrant father, she feels a special emotional connection to the story because her parents’ interracial relationship will finally be represented on screen. This has been something Alexis has been looking forward to since meeting Aiko in freshman year, and she could not be more ecstatic for what’s to come!


Director of Photography
Alonzo Labiosa
Alonzo Labiosa is a cinematographer from New York, based in LA. Currently studying Cinematography at Chapman University, he seeks to tell authentic stories depicting heightened realities. The expressive nature of his work can be accredited to his inspiration from music through saxophone performance, music production, and DJing. He is incredibly excited to work on a project like East Did Meet West with a dedicated, hard-working, and passionate crew.


Editor
Gianni Gibbs
Gianni Gibbs, also known as Gibby, is a film production major with a focus on editing. His deep passion for editing shines through in his work on short films, music videos, and commercials. Over the past few years, Gibby has honed his skills as an editor at Colorblind Studios, where he's contributed to larger projects for clients such as Harley Davidson and prominent athletes from the NFL and NBA. He is particularly excited about the opportunity to work on "East Did Meet West," as he has long aspired to be involved in a project that portrays a true story and amplifies authentic voices. Additionally, Gibby has always admired the director's previous work and is eager to contribute to a project, with such talented people, that aligns with his passion for storytelling.


Sound Designer
Kelli Whiteside
Kelli Whiteside is a Sound Designer and Engineer from Los Angeles, CA. Throughout her career, she has gotten the chance to learn and experiment with all audio disciplines, including, but not limited to, live mixing, theatrical mixing, theatrical sound design, production sound, post-production sound, ADR recording, and music composition and production. She is currently working as an Audio Technician at Disneyland Resort and has gotten to contribute to large-scale audio projects and installs. As a woman in the tech industry, she understands the value of a diverse crew and the importance of telling their stories. This is why she is extremely excited and honored to be a part of “East Did Meet West.”


Composer
Logyn Okuda
Logyn Okuda currently studies Music Composition and Sound Design at Chapman University. In the past, he has worked on numerous senior thesis films with powerful messages behind them (Simon Says, Rusted Roots, Flower Girl). Most recently, he scored and recorded music for the Hawaii International Film Festival commercial, interned at WaterTower Music (Warner Bros. Discovery), and is working on a long-term project with three highly-coveted Hollywood film composers. With roots originating from Japan and Hawaii, working on culturally-influenced media always excite Logyn. He enjoys to explore new sounds, find their alignment with the picture, ultimately to aid the story in the best way sonically possible. He's fortunate and honored to be writing music for this film, alongside sublime talent and dedicated artists.


Production Designer
Gwendolyn Allison
Gwendolyn Allison is a film production, production designer major at Chapman University, with a minor in Art History. Gwendolyn loves production designing, and is excited to take on a historical project. She works at the prop house and scene shop at school and LOVES to build! She cannot wait to work with all her friends on this beautiful story.


Unit Production Manager
Zoey Hughes
Zoey Hughes is a Creative Producing major at Chapman University with a minor in the Honors Program. She has produced a variety of short films, commercials, and music videos (including a short film with an all-female crew with the amazing producer Lexi!) She has assisted a variety of producers as an intern at Campfire Studios, Blaktop Management with London Alley Productions, and most recently as a development intern at Partizan. She is so excited to work with this phenomenal team of creatives telling such a beautiful and authentic story.
